Emergencies
Patients with emergencies which are life threatening should go directly
to Pattie A. Clay Hospital Emergency Room where treatment will be rendered.
Follow up care, if desired, may be provided by the SHS. Students needing
emergency medical transportation may call 911. Students using the service
of the emergency room or the ambulance are responsible for the service
charges.

Hospitalization
Students requiring immediate hospitalization are referred to Pattie A. Clay
Hospital. It is a 112 bed hospital located just a few blocks out of main
campus of Eastern Kentucky University on the Eastern By-pass. This hospital
maintains a 24-hour, fully staffed emergency room. It provides full laboratory,
x-ray, physical therapy, and inhalation therapy services. It has a staff
of over 40 physicians, including specialists in general surgery, oral surgery,
internal medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, urology, ophthalmology,
orthopedics, radiology, otolaryngology, and pathology. |
